Raymond Lee Jewelers of Boca Raton, FL was founded in 1983. Since its inception, the jewelry store has offered the best value for its pre-owned and new luxury watches such as the Rolex Explorer II. The Explorer II was launched in 1971, and intended as a tool for cave explorers. This model featured a new orange 24-hour hand that allowed cave explorers to easily tell time since they often became disoriented for being underground for so long. In its early years, the watch did not sell very well because it targeted such a narrow audience. It wasn't until 1984 that Rolex introduced its newer and revamped Explorer II.

The Explorer II has been modernized with a larger 904L steel case at 42 mm (excluding the crown). Although the watch is bigger, it still maintains the traditional satin brushed lugs and polished sides. The new band is a stainless steel Oysterlock that features a 5 mm Easylink extension.
